Your Visit:

Because each individual is unique, your experience may vary. Here’s a general overview or what to expect.

Movement therapy sessions are typically 45min in length and may include both traditional therapeutic methods as well a more mind-body approach. This may include but is not limited to, verbal therapy, dance/movement therapy (also known as somatic psychotherapy), Pilates, yoga, mindfulness work, progressive relaxation or some combination, and always by mutual agreement with the client. Sessions can be conducted from the couch or chair, but may also utilize open space.

I believe one of most integral factors in a successful treatment outcome, is the relationship between therapist and client. Therefor I provide a safe, collaborative, non-judgmental environment to foster safely and self-expression.

First Contact:

I will respond to your initial call or email as soon as possible (typically within one business day).  At that time we will have the opportunity to talk and arrange your first appointment.

First Appointment:

The nature of your first visit, often referred to as the initial evaluation, will most likely be more structured than others and will give me the opportunity to gather all relevant information, get to know you and formulate the best treatment options.  This is also your opportunity to discuss any questions or concerns you may have. Our initial session will be 60 minutes in length.  Subsequent sessions are 45 minutes.  During this time you will also be asked to fill out any obligatory paperwork.

 Insurance:

I do not accept insurance. If you would like to use your out-of-network insurance benefits, I will be happy to provide you with a receipt of service that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. It is advised that you call your insurance company to verify out-of-network coverage for outpatient mental health services.

Late Cancellation and No Show Policy:

I require a 24-hour notification (not including weekends) for a cancelled appointment.  You will be charged the full fee for cancelled or rescheduled sessions with less than 24 hour notice.
